Connaught Court Summer Fete 16 June 2018

The Association of Friends of Connaught Court will be holding its annual Summer Fair on Saturday 16th June 2018 at Connaught Court in York. The Fair will be opened at 1.30 p.m. by the Provincial Grand Master of Yorkshire North and East Ridings R W Brother Jeffrey Gillyon.

The Summer Fair is open to masons and their families from the three contributing Provinces of Yorkshire West Riding, Yorkshire North and East Ridings and Lincolnshire as well as the residents and staff of the home and the general public. There are usually in excess of twenty stalls, games and attractions in attendance and it takes place both inside the home and outside in a tented arena.

The aim is to make the event very child friendly and this year’s event will include a bouncy castle, steam wagon / traction engine rides, petting animals, a fire engine display and lots and lots of games such as “splat the rat”, the “human fruit machine”, “bag a bottle” etc. There will also be tombolas, cake stalls, bric a brac and numerous other attractions as well as a brass band all aimed at providing an enjoyable and memorable day out.

The venue is located just off the A64 York by-pass on the A19 and could if desired be included as part of a day trip to York or the coast with proceedings usually starting at around 11.00 a.m. and the official opening at 1.30 p.m.

All of the proceeds from the Fair are used in enhancing the life experience and wellbeing of the residents of the home who are mostly masons or their dependents from the three Provinces.

If you haven’t yet seen the home then you are urged to take this opportunity of visiting this wonderful facility and discovering what a gem we have available to us as masons of the three Provinces.
