The League of friends of the Skegness Hospital received a
cheque of £750 from the New Provincial Benevolent fund, presented by the Worshipful Master of St Clement Lodge. The money will help towards their latest project involving the removal of an old conservatory.
Using the same footprint they are enabling three single bedrooms to be converted
into three suites for the use of their patients needing palliative care, this will
enable families to stay with their loved ones. So far the cost of the
alterations which has started will cost the League £140,000. Each room will
have special lighting and ensuite toilet facility. When the building is
complete there will be a small courtyard for each room accessed through double
doors. They are hoping to get help with the cost of landscaping the courtyards as
this will not be included in the present budget of £140,000.
